Southside Vet & the Community
We have partnered with Calvary Christian College to provide veterinary assistance for their sheep show team, an integral part of the agricultural science curriculum. Ms Kirsty Hart and Dr Liz Craig are working together to improve the wellbeing of their Suffolk sheep flock. Dr Liz has a lifetime of experience working with sheep, so this allows Liz an opportunity to return to her roots for a bit of fun and provide a high quality of veterinary care for the college, on a pro-bono basis. We are proud to be associated with the College and their Ag Science students and look forward to continuing this relationship in the years to come.
With our new, flash purple hydrobath being installed, we are keen to use this as a fundraising opportunity for local schools and sports clubs. We will be offering the hydrobath to local organisation two weekends a month to run hydrobaths. We will provide the bath, the shampoo and a supervising staff member. You provide some eager volunteers and some pooches and off we go. The money raised from the hydrobaths will be our donation to you. A little bit more interesting that yet another sausage sizzle!
School Talks and Education
The staff and Southside Vet clinic are keen to interact with the community and are happy to share their animal knowledge with your students and staff. You never know where the next great vet or nurse is lurking and we look forward to unearthing a few over the coming years. We also welcome applications for work experience students. Understandly we cannot accept every application, but are committed to allowing as many students as possible to opportunity to explore the veterinary industry as a career choice.
We are always happy to assist however we can to the amazing volunteers of organisations that are helping the not so lucky animals in our community. We have recently partnered with Little Paws Kitten Rescue to provide veterinary work for their kittens and cats in care. If you think we can help your organisation, please contact our practice to discuss your needs. We are also happy to participate in stalls and information booths at events you may be running.
